DESIGN + CONCEPT: COPYRIGHT DHRUV MISHRA
- This project acknowledges and utilizes one of the largest contributors to unsustainability in the e-waste recycling process, the printed circuit boards. By redirecting PCB boards from traditional energy reclamation methods, reviv-e elevates the underlying beauty of PCBs to serve as a sculptural light. When processed (sanded and coated), the boards form interesting patterns with the introduction of light, playing with opacity, transparency and translucency. Depending on its scale, reviv-e is an alternative for a large installation or as a daytime sculpture & nighttime accent light inside homes. Using discarded pcbs as the core material, reviv-e is a springboard for potential uses including but not limited to lighting, table tops and small furniture pieces (shelves and racks).
